Sermon Leads
Feel free to use or adapt these suggested sermon outlines for your church in a four weekend or eight-weekend series, or one global weekend emphasis. Each outline includes main points, with references to scripture and related pages in the book for research. There’s also a simple mid-week application idea, and an interactive idea to use during the service time.
Much of the advice about following Jesus to the nations in our neighborhoods—and beyond—applies to reaching out to anyone who does not know Jesus Christ personally, as well as encouraging spiritual growth and health in all areas of life. Every believer can turn an ordinary life into a spiritual adventure by learning to cross cultures anywhere they happen to be—with courage, confidence, compassion, and spiritual intentionality.

One Global weekend plan; across the street and around the world
Plan one globally focused weekend. Stir up God’s heart for the nations in your congregation. Paint a picture of what it will take to “win” in God’s economy of reaching the whole world. Invite people to welcome the nations right where they live. And challenge those who could be sent to the ends of the earth.
The Global Challenge: Prayer PathWays gives you freedom to try five different ways to pray, as a Contemplative, an Intellectual, a Traditionalist, a Sensate and a Naturalist. You’ll experience new ways to pray in solitude, through podcasts, with a seashell, lighting incense, holding a rubberband, and taking a walk in the park.
